
The inaugural Malaysia International Watercolour Society Biennale boasts a total of 660 works from artists in 66 countries.
The event will also see four leading watercolourists honoured with Lifetime Achievement Awards by the International Watercolour Society (IWS). Namely, IWS founder and president Atanur Dogan (Canada), Fabriano InAcquarello watercolour festival curator Anna Massinissa (Italy), and from Malaysia, founder and former principal of Kuala Lumpur College of Art, Cheah Yew Saik and Tham Siew Inn.
Among the participating artists are Amer Hassan (Iraq), Anna Ozerskaya (Russia), Atanur Dogan (Canada), Alexandra Bryksa (Czech Republic), Chan Yat Kuen (Hong Kong), Cheah Yew Saik (Malaysia), Chiayee Lam (Malaysia), Helidon Haliti (Albania), Hua Jian Feng (China), Igor Gaivoronski (Iceland), Igor Yurchenko (Ukrain), Jansen Chow (Malaysia), Linda Doll (America), Md Kauser Hossain (Bangladesh), Min Wae Aung (Myanmar), Ormira Lulani (Albania), Richard Tiejun Chou (Australia), ‘Rose King’ La Fe (Thailand), Soha Khalil (Egypt), Stanislaw Zoladz (Sweden), Tham Siew Inn (Malaysia), Xiao Xing Hu (China), You Mee Park (South Korea), Ze Ze Lai (China).
Live painting demonstrations will be carried out by Amer Hassan, Anna Ozerskaya, Atanur Dugan, Chan Yat Kuen, Cheah Yew Saik, Chiayee Lam, Hua Jian Feng, Igor Gaivoronski, Jansen Chow, Md Kauser Hossain, Soha Khalil and Xiao Xing Hu.
