Singapore-based Gajah Gallery has announced its participation in the 5th edition of Art Basel Hong Kong featuring the latest works from prominent contemporary artists: Ahmad Zakii Anwar, Ashley Bickerton, Jason Lim, Kumari Nahappan, Li Jin, Mangu Putra, Rudi Mantofani, Sabri Idrus, Suzann Victor, Wei Ligang, Wang Tiande and Yunizar.
At the recent Art Stage Singapore (Jan 12-16), Rudi Mantofani’s diptych Bertabur Bintang was sold in the first 15 minutes of the fair opening, while Ashley Bickerton’s Two Women was sold even before the fair opened. Paintings by Ahmad Zakii Anwar, Mangu Putra, Sabri Idrus, Yunizar, and Li Jin were all sold to private collectors over the course of the four-day event, reaffirming the consistent demand for these artists’ works, even amidst reports of an uncertain market. In Hong Kong this March, Gajah Gallery will present a fresh selection of paintings and sculptures created for the collectors at Asia’s premier art event.
