Cerpan-Cerpen: New Works by Jalaini Abu Hassan is the latest solo exhibition by the contemporary artist.
The exhibition comprises drawings and paintings with bitumen and fabric dye wash.
Featuring scenes of life in Kuala Lumpur and Jailani’s hometown Taiping; the works are said to suggest personal documentation, history and memory.
The works are said to intentionally avoid recent political issues in Malaysia as Jailani “seeks a more intimate examination of personal history over a longer time frame.”
The opening reception is on Oct 12 at 7pm.
In conjunction with the opening, there will be a short performance by founder of Tintabudi, Nazir Harith Fadzilah at 8pm.
