EDUCATION

  • Studied art at the Chung Ling High School under Mr Lee Cheng Yong.

  • Chong Hon Fatt is described as an Impressionist painter who started out with painting in watercolours, but later switched to concentrate on oils, which he preferred for their versatile nature and what he thought would give him the most pleasure.
  • Commissioned by the Chinese provisional government to paint at two UNESCO heritage sites in Guangdong and Fujian provinces under the Fortified Towers Under the Sun project in 2007 and 2009.
  • These commissions resulted in a total of 50 artworks, some of which were later exhibited at the Equator Academy of Art in Penang, followed by a display of all the paintings in Ipoh in 2010.
