A Colourful Journey to a Promise is the title of senior artist Norma Abbas’ latest solo exhibition featuring some 70 paintings.
The works reflect the artist’s relationship with her family members, close friends, nature and her journey in life.
Such themes are rendered in bold yet whimsical and attractive collages.
The show will be launched by Bank Negara Malaysia deputy governor Abdul Rasheed Ghaffour on Nov 16 at 3.30pm.

The fifth edition of the Singapore Biennale entitled, An Atlas of Mirrors, will showcase the works of over 60 established and emerging artists from Southeast Asia as well as East Asia and South Asia.
The selected artists participating in SB2016 are from Singapore, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.
The works span various media while artists are selected in relation to the show’s title, An Atlas of Mirrors.

Up to 200 works ranging from the 16th Century to the present day will be showcased in the gallery’s second international exhibition entitled, Artist and Empire: (En)countering Colonial Legacies.
Organised in association with Tate Britain, the exhibition is said to critically examine art produced for the British Empire from today’s perspective while featuring Southeast Asian viewpoints.
The opening reception will be held on Oct 4 from 5pm.
Siang & Malam (Day & Night) is the 26th solo exhibition by Jalaini Abu Hassan showcasing 12 landscape paintings pregnant with meanings associated with Malaysia today.
The works are categorised under two types of paintings related to the vibrant hues or monochromatic compositions.
Visitors of Tunjang – an exhibition by four Anak Alam members Mustapa Ibrahim, Maryam Abdullah, Ali ‘Mabuha’ Rahamad and Yusoff Osman – are invited to participate in an open mic on Saturday May 21 2016 at Creative Space, National Visual Arts Gallery, Kuala Lumpur.
The Practitioners group show features the works of masters degree graduates from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) at Jalan Othman in Petaling Jaya in conjunction with a book launch.
The master in fine art and technology graduate programme review are conducted by lecturers Jalaini Abu Hassan, Ruslan Abdul Rahim and Ramlan Abdullah.
Akhirnya… is the title of an exhibition of Awang Damit’s personal collection of works that range from his Intipati Budaya series to Payarama series .
The show celebrates the inauguration of the artist’s own art space, pantauIRAGA in Kuala Langat. This is a non-selling exhibition as the focus is to introduce the space to art lovers.
The first pantauIRAGA publication covers Awang Damit’s concepts, sketches and his painting series from 1985 to 2015 as well as a selection of artist’s writings.
Sisters in Islam in collaboration with Editions Didier Millet, Ilham Gallery and Borders Malaysia present the launch of “Secret Colours of Malaysia”, an adult colouring book.
In conjunction with the book launch, a charity auction of artworks by top Malaysian artists and celebrities based on “Secret Colours of Malaysia”, will be held.
