Kuala Lumpur-based Richard Koh Fine Art gallery, opens a new art space in Bangkok called, Richard Koh Projects, with a solo exhibition by Thai artist Natee Utarit entitled, View from the tower.
The exhibition is said to be Natee’s first solo exhibition in Bangkok after 11 years.
The paintings depict scenes from outside the artist's studio window and the works are said to reflect the basics of painting.
The painting and the frame are said to function as metaphors for the act of looking out the window and onto the world outside.
Natee says in a statement, “The meaning that a landscape painting has for me is in its relation to this interior world; it is no longer a representation of the natural world that is present in front of me.”
