Entitled, Sculpturing is Meditative, the latest solo show of veteran artist Chin Wan Kee features selected works from 1997 to 2017.
The exhibition focuses on the human form and the works reflect the artist's thoughts on life and humanity and the direction it has evolved over the years.
According to Chin, sculpturing work is meditative as it puts him into a position to "experience the truth and freedom in life".
The process continues to inspire him to explore the roots of his own identity.
Such a direction leads the artist to a deeper understanding of the fundamental nature of human kind and their intrinsic value.
Besides marking a personal milestone for the 55-year-old artist, the exhibition is also in tribute to fellow sculptors, other art practitioners and patrons for their support and at the same time, introducing the artist and his art form to a whole new generation of art lovers.
An artist of over 30 years standing, Chin is currently attached to a private institution as an art educator.
His sculpture, Unity and Harmony, has been on the grounds of the National Art Gallery since 2000.
The show will be launched on Oct 12 at 3pm by Tan Sri Kamarul Ariffin, former chairman of National Visual Art Development Board.
