Masks and Stories is a group exhibition featuring four Malaysian and Indonesian artists. They are Caryn Koh, Dedy Sufriadi, Indra Dodi and Syahbandi Samat.

The works are said to revolve around the idea of a mask that allows one's true self to "navigate" society. They are also said to question how the mask becomes an important element in storytelling within visual art.

The gallery’s press release states, “[According to Swiss psychiatrist, Carl Jung], each of us wears a mask, and depending on the social situation we may be in, that mask may change.”

Therefore, our interactions with others are said to be based on whatever mask they happen to have on at a given moment.

“It could be said, therefore, that a story is nothing more than the cumulative end result of two or more personas interacting. Façade meeting façade; mask meeting mask.”
