Artistic director, festival director, curator, programmer…what is it that these people do? What is involved in putting on great shows?

Building on ideas related to principles of audience building and engagement, the workshop conductors will look at different approaches to programming and the development of artistic direction and curation.

"We will unpack the meaning of some of these terms, and also focus on aspects of evaluation and the qualitative experience of your audience because understanding the impact of what you do helps inform your decisions," according to the organiser.

"Through participatory discussions and exercises, workshop participants will also develop insights into their own creative ambitions and practice."

This workshop is the last in a series of four, Managing Islands of Creativity, organised by LASALLE College of the Arts in co-operation with George Town Festival.

Participants should preferably have some experience with the arts or creative events.

Facilitators: Audrey Wong & Sunitha Janamohanan
